What is
iConsulting?
iConsulting is an online consulting
service providing access to OFSA experts. You buy an iConsulting Ticket and
this provides you with one hour of a CamArch implementation consultant’s time
to answer questions, bounce ideas off or just fix
something that’s been bugging you for weeks. Each ticket you buy is credited
to your account and you control the account usage of your organization. You
can nominate any number of people from your organization that can access the
iConsulting account services and you’ll receive an update at the end of each
month. What’s so
great about it?
The great thing about iConsulting is that you
control the amount of money you spend on OFSA ownership. For example, if you
budget $20,000 per year to support your OFSA system, that buys you a fixed
amount of access to consulting resources who are very experienced in dealing
with OFSA issues. At around $120 per ticket this represents great value for
money. One of our customers
biggest problems is a lack of internal resources to meet their OFSA
processing requirements. Staff DBA’s unfortunately
have too much on their plate these days often managing 20 or more Oracle
databases. With these pressures to maintain so many disparate systems it’s no
wonder that the specialist skills required to maintain an OFSA instance are
simply not being achieved. On the functional side, the problems are all too
familiar. Once the system goes into production, project staff
filter away from the process and functional improvements are
constantly delayed because the resources to do the work are busy on other
things. The problem is that it costs a lot of money to
acquire OFSA specific skills. It’s a complex system and keeping up to date
with new releases and functional enhancements is near impossible for most users.
That’s where this service comes in. With iConsulting, you aren’t paying for expensive
consultants to travel to your site and spend days or weeks in a hotel. The
service is charged at a flat rate in 15 minute increments. Our customers regularly use this service to have
process reviews or project health checks performed. Some have even provided
us with a copy of their database so we can work through their queries faster
and more efficiently. As a trusted service provider, we have also been
granted access to customer OFSA systems via either secure dial-up or VPN
services to allow our consultants to diagnose and fix problems. How does it
work?
Once you have purchased your tickets, we will create
an iConsulting account for your organization. You will be asked to nominate
people from your company who are authorized to use the service. Once the
account is created you (or any authorized person) can email us at iconsult@camarch.com.au and your
query will be routed to the appropriate consultant for attention. Your consultant will contact you directly via
email within 48 hours (usually same business day) to respond to your query.
If you have Microsoft Messenger and a web camera we can usually setup a video
conference or discussion forum and conduct meetings over the internet. If of
course your query is fairly straight forward, we can simply attend to it via
phone or email. As the account owner for your company, you will
receive a statement at the end of each month detailing your account usage. Sounds a lot
like Oracle Support?
You’re right it does but, iConsulting is not
Oracle support nor will it ever be. This service is for process and
application queries and advice NOT application support. The fact is, that Oracle support and iConsulting actually
complement each other. You should remember though, that with iConsulting
